The breath-taking cable car ride across the Rhine and up to the Ehrenbreitstein Fortress should not be missed: Behind you the roofs of Koblenz, below you the broad river and in front of you the gigantic fortress Ehrenbreitstein. This adjective is by no means an exaggeration, as you will be entering the second largest preserved fortress in Europe. Prussian King Friedrich Wilhelm III ordered the construction as part of an anti-French military line. Up to 6,500 craftsmen and day labourers were employed. The mighty fortress rises 118 metres above the Rhine and was once the core of the fortification around Koblenz. Together with the Deutsches Eck (German Corner), it forms the northern gateway to the UNESCO World Heritage Upper Middle Rhine Valley. Afterwards we will walk through the old town back to the ship.

Join us on a relaxed panoramic trip through the 'Vulkaneifel' near Koblenz and to the famous pilgrimage site Maria Laach. The 'Vulkaneifel' is considered a valuable natural heritage and has been designated a European Geopark by UNESCO. Drive along this beautiful nature and discover numerous 'Maare' - funnel-shaped volcanic openings filled with water. Your way continues to the 'Laacher Seetal'. The lake and its surroundings form the largest nature reserve in Rhineland-Palatinate. The medieval Benedictine monastery Maria Laach is also picturesquely situated on the banks of the lake. After a short stop, the bus will take you back to Koblenz on your panoramic journey.
